Free PA/Companion Ticket

A free PA/Companion Ticket is available for Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent customers who require another person’s support to access or attend Hockley Hustle.

When purchasing your festival ticket, you will be given the option near checkout to indicate that you require a free PA/Companion Ticket.

After completing your booking, you will receive an email asking for the name of your PA/Companion so that their free admission can be registered.

You do not need to provide medical evidence or disclose a diagnosis to request a PA/Companion Ticket.

£7.50 Step-Free Access Concession

A reduced-price £7.50 Step-Free Access Concession is available for customers whose disability, health condition, impairment or other access-related need means they require step-free access.

Many Hockley Hustle venues have limited or no step-free access, which may prevent customers who require step-free access from experiencing the full festival. We have introduced this concession in recognition of these barriers.

The concession provides general festival admission but does not guarantee step-free access, priority entry or admission to every venue. All venues remain subject to capacity.

Please only book this ticket if you require step-free access. You do not need to provide medical evidence or disclose a diagnosis.

Arriving at the festival
The main wristband exchange is at the main entrance of Broadway Cinema.

Hockley Hustle staff and volunteers will be there to welcome you and help with any questions.

If you need help during the festival, you can approach anyone wearing a Hockley Hustle festival T-shirt.

Wristband collection
Please have the QR code from your festival ticket ready when you arrive.

A member of the team will scan your QR code and give you a festival wristband.

Your wristband allows you to enter participating festival venues.

Volunteers will check wristbands at the entrance to most venues.

If waiting in a queue presents an access barrier for you, please speak to a member of the team at the wristband exchange. We will provide an alternative way for you to collect your wristband without having to wait in the main queue.

You do not need to contact us in advance. However, if you would like more information about this support before the festival, please email Danny, Accessibility Lead, at danny@hockleyhustle.co.uk. We aim to respond within five working days.

Hockley Hustle takes place across 49 venues and performance spaces in Hockley and the surrounding area of Nottingham.

Most performances take place inside existing venues, with a small number of outdoor or street performances.

Hockley is generally a walkable city-centre area with paved streets and footpaths. Routes between venues may include road crossings, dropped kerbs, uneven surfaces and busy crowds. Wet weather may also make some outdoor surfaces more slippery.

Of the 49 venues and performance spaces, 26 have step-free access to the performance area and 14 have an accessible toilet.

We recognise that customers who require step-free access currently have fewer venue options. A reduced-price £7.50 Step-Free Access Ticket is available in recognition of this, while we continue working towards better access across the festival.

The furthest points within the festival area are approximately 0.6 miles apart by walking route, between The Bath Inn near Sneinton Market and venues around Billy Bootleggers / St Mary’s Church.

A full Access Guide will be available on the website, with detailed information for each venue. Printed access information will also be displayed outside participating venues.

We encourage public transport where possible, but recognise this is not accessible or suitable for everyone.

There are a range of public transport options for travelling to Hockley, including buses and trams. There are too many routes to list here, so we recommend checking which option is most suitable and accessible for your journey.

Nearby car parks include Lace Market Car Park and NCP Stoney Street Car Park. These are independent of Hockley Hustle, so availability and access arrangements may vary.

Hockley Hustle is a busy city-centre festival taking place across multiple venues in Hockley. Many venues are likely to become busy and crowded, particularly during popular performances and at peak arrival and departure times.

Moving between venues may involve navigating busy streets and crowds, uneven outdoor surfaces, road crossings, and changing noise and lighting levels.

Some venues have limited capacity. A festival ticket does not guarantee entry to a particular venue or performance if it has reached capacity.

We will publish venue-specific access and sensory information supplied by participating venues to help you plan your visit. Please check the Access Guide before attending.

This will include information about step-free access, entrances and steps, accessible toilets, seating and viewing arrangements, strobe or flashing lighting, and other venue-specific arrangements.

Access provision differs between venues, and some details are still being confirmed. We are working with venues to ensure the information is accurate and up to date. Please check this page again shortly before attending.

The following venues have told us they have an accessible toilet:

• Broadway Cinema - a RADAR key is required. Please ask at the box office.
• Bunkers Hill - accessible toilet available, but the performance area is not step-free.
• By Our Hands We Make Our Way
• Fisher Gate Point Downstairs
• Fox & Grapes
• Mesa
• Metronome - a RADAR key is available from the box office.
• Queen of Hockley - a RADAR key is required. Please ask bar staff.
• Rough Trade - the accessible toilet is downstairs and can be reached by lift or stairs. It is kept locked and does not use a RADAR key. Please ask bar staff for the key. There may be a short delay while staff arrange access.
• St Mary’s Church (Lace Market)
• The Bath Inn
• The Bodega Downstairs
• The Grove - the accessible toilet is in the same building block, around 10 metres from the venue, with ramped access. Please ask bar staff for the key and directions.

Please note: the Hockley Hustle team has spent considerable time collecting and checking this information to make it as clear as possible. However, the information is provided by participating venues and may be subject to change.

We aim to display clear access information outside every participating venue. This will include key information such as step-free access, steps, accessible toilet provision and relevant sensory information. Festival staff and volunteers can also help you locate this information.

Sensory conditions will vary between venues and performances. You may encounter loud amplified music, busy or crowded environments, low lighting, and changing or flashing lighting effects.

Free earplugs are available from the ticket booth.

We have not been able to collect detailed sensory information for every venue this year. If you have a specific sensory access requirement, or would like information about a particular venue, please contact us and we will do our best to help

A sensory-friendly Quiet Space will be available in the Library at Broadway Cinema, Level -1, accessible by lift, from 12pm until 11pm.

The space is available to anyone who needs time away from the crowds, noise or activity of the festival. You do not need to book in advance or provide evidence to use it.

The space will include:

• Ear defenders.
• A chill-out area.
• Fidget toys and drawing resources.
• Sofas, chairs and tables.
• Charging points for devices using standard UK plugs.

It will provide somewhere to recharge both your energy and your devices. Large signs around the festival will help direct you to the Quiet Space.

The Quiet Space is separate from the festival’s welfare and first-aid space. The nearest wheelchair-accessible toilet is on the same floor, approximately one to two minutes from the Quiet Space.

We are currently reviewing and confirming our assistance-dog information with participating venues. Further details will be published here as soon as they are available.
